What to Have Ready When You Request a Truck Valuation
By FordTruckBuyer.com · Published 2026-10-29
The basics
- Model year (or "not sure")
- Model: F-100, F-150, F-250, F-350, or other
- ZIP code where the truck sits
- Your name and how you'd like to be contacted
Details that help
- Engine and fuel type (gas or diesel)
- Two-wheel or four-wheel drive
- Cab: regular, SuperCab, or crew cab
- Bed: Styleside, Flareside, long or short, flatbed
- Transmission: manual or automatic
- Approximate mileage, older odometers may have rolled over
- Does it run and drive?
- What's original, what's been replaced, what's missing
Photos
Photos aren't required, but they answer a lot of questions at once. Front, both sides, rear and bed, interior, engine bay, odometer, any rust or damage, and the door tag if you're comfortable sharing it.
Paperwork to locate
Find the title, and note whose name is on it. If there's no title or the owner has passed away, mention that up front, it's a common situation and it changes the next steps, not whether the conversation is worth having.
